While microblading is great for most people, there are some people who are ineligible for microblading:

Without Exception

Individuals under 18 years of age

It is our policy at Microblading LA not to work with individuals under 18 years of age, even with a consent form.

Women who are pregnant or nursing

As the body is going through hormonal changes, it is more prone to infections (this is rare but not worth the risk) and that's the reason we don't preform microblading

Individuals who are allergic to nickel

We use a tiny blade that contain some nickel so allergy to nickel can be a show stopper.

Individuals with any kind of skin condition on or near their eyebrows

Unfortunately, having eczema, dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis or any one of these skin conditions may compromise the surface and texture of the skin. Microblading preformed on skin with type of condition may have sub par results

Individuals who are allergic to makeup or colours

Although extremely rare, if you do have an allergy to pigments you should avoid microblading as pigments are part of the ink we are using

Individuals prone to keloids

Unfortunately, since microblading punctures the skin there is always a risk for people that are prone to keloids to heal with keloids scaring

Individuals who used Accutane within the last year

Since Accutane alters this skin and makes it thin, dry, and sensitive. It also weaken your immune system. For those reasons you'll need to wait 6 moths to a year after your Accutane treatment is completed and your skin is back to its normal state.

Individuals with Bleeding disorder

If you have a bleeding disorder, the microblading procedure can lead to excessive bleeding and prevent proper absorption of pigment.

With Doctor Note or Clearance

Individuals undergoing chemotherapy

Although microblading is great for restoring eyebrows, we would require a doctor’s note in order to perform the procedure for anyone undergoing chemotherapy. Once you're cleared, however, microblading is a great solution for cancer survivors.

Individuals that have any uncertainty regarding their pre-existing conditions

please consult with your doctor before booking an appointment for microblading

Based on Individual Cases

Individuals with a dark pre-existing eyebrow tattoo or permanent makeup

The tattoo or permanent makeup must be light enough for us to draw hairstrokes. We ask anyone with a previous eyebrow tattoo to send us an email with a picture of their eyebrows with no makeup on, so we can evaluate.

Individuals who are allergic to lidocaine or epinephrine

Our most used anesthetic is lidocaine and epinephrine so if you are allergic to it, we will not be able to use it during the microblading procedure; however, you will still have an option to proceed with microblading but without a numbing agent to reduce the pain.

Individuals with oily skin

Those with very oily skin are unfortunately not good candidates for microblading. Those with less oily or combination skin, may consider Powder brows or a combination of microblading and powder effect, combo brows. We have a blog all about microblading solutions for oily skin, if this applies to you. Our Master Artist will ultimately decide if they can perform microblading on your skin.
