While Powder Brows is great for most people, there are some people who are ineligible for the Powder Brows procedure:
Without Exception
Individuals under 18 years of age
It is our policy at MLA not to work with individuals under 18 years of age, even with a consent form.
Women who are pregnant or nursing
As the body is going through hormonal changes, it is more prone to infections (this is rare but not worth the risk) and that's the reason we don't preform Powder Brows
Individuals who are allergic to nickel
We use a tiny blade that is contain some nickel so allergy to nickel can be a show stopper.
Individuals with any kind of skin condition on or near their eyebrows
Unfortunately, having eczema, dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis or any one of these skin conditions may compromise the surface and texture of the skin. Powder Brows procedure preformed on skin with type of condition may have sub par results which is unacceptable at MLA
Individuals who are allergic to makeup or colours
Although extremely rare, if you do have an allergy to pigments you should avoid Powder Brows procedure as pigments are part of the ink we are using
Individuals prone to keloids
Unfortunately, since Powder Brows procedure punctures the skin there is always a risk for people that are prone to keloids to heal with keloids scaring
Individuals who used Accutane within the last year
Since Accutane alters this skin and makes it thin, dry, and sensitive. It also weaken your immune system. For those reasons you'll need to wait six months to a year after your Accutane treatment is completed and your skin is back to its normal state.
Individuals with Bleeding disorder
If you have a bleeding disorder, the Powder Brows procedure can lead to excessive bleeding and prevent proper absorption of pigment.
With Doctor Note or Clearance
Individuals undergoing chemotherapy
Although Powder Brows procedure is great for restoring eyebrows, we would require a doctor’s note in order to perform the procedure for anyone undergoing chemotherapy. Once you're cleared, however, Powder Brows procedure is a great solution for cancer survivors.
Individuals that have any uncertainty regarding their pre-existing conditions
please consult with your doctor before booking an appointment for Powder Brows
Based on Individual Cases
Individuals with a dark pre-existing eyebrow tattoo or permanent makeup
The tattoo or permanent makeup must be light enough for us to work over it. We ask anyone with a previous eyebrow tattoo to send us an email with a picture of their eyebrows with no makeup on, so we can evaluate.
